Thanks for supporting my run for Carlsbad City Council and for voting for me yesterday. About 4000 other Carlsbad residents did the same. (That's 6.2% of the vote.)
Ann Kulchin (27%) kept her Council seat and Keith Blackburn (24%) will join the Council. Congratulations to them both and thanks to the other candidates, too - Farrah Douglas, Thomas K. Arnold, and Glenn Bernard - for running for office.
Please know that your confidence and trust mean a great deal to me. It's been encouraging and fun to work together toward our goals for Carlsbad. I believe we had an impact on the tone, methods, participation, and priorities of this election and I look forward to moving together beyond it.
I also appreciate the interest and messages of support from elsewhere in North County and all around the world - - every continent except Antarctica - - especially the outpouring of virtual high fives from other people challenged / blessed with autism. Every time I faced an interview or a crowded, noisy room full of people at a forum or debate, I remembered your words of encouragement.
